Straight answers

Before you book

The questions we are asked most on a first phone call. If yours isn't here, just ask; we answer our own phone.

I'm really nervous. Is that a problem?

It is the most common thing pupils say, and it is one of the things we specialise in. First lessons start on quiet residential streets, the car has dual controls, and nothing happens faster than you want it to. Several pupils have taken three lessons before touching a main road, and that is completely fine.

Do you teach learners with ADHD, autism or dyslexia?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Lessons are tailored to how you learn: shorter instructions, one thing at a time, more repetition, predictable routines, and as much notice of any change as we can give. Specialist lessons are £40 an hour.

How much are driving lessons?

£37 for a single hour, or £350 for a 10 hour block booking, which is our starter offer. Intensive courses are £760 for 20 hours and £1,140 for 30. Specialist lessons for additional learning needs are £40 an hour. Full price list.

I have failed my test before. Can you help?

Yes, and we are asked for this often. We start by finding out exactly what went wrong rather than starting again from scratch, then work on those specific things until they are no longer the weak point.

Do I need my theory test first?

No. You only need a valid provisional licence to start lessons. Book your theory early though: you cannot book a practical test without a theory pass, and waiting lists move slowly.

Manual or automatic?

Both are taught in a dual-controlled car. A manual licence lets you drive anything; automatic is usually quicker to pass and suits pupils who find clutch control stressful. Tell us your situation on the call and we will say honestly which we would recommend.
