Short version: we keep what you send us, we use it to reply to you, and we do nothing else with it.
Who We Are
Eddie's School of Driving is a sole-instructor driving school run by the instructor. For data-protection purposes he is the data controller. You can reach him on +44 7710 675575 or at hello@eddiesdrive.co.uk.
What We Collect
From the enquiry form, only what you type into it: your name, email address, phone number, and optionally your postcode, the kind of lessons you want, your availability and your message. The server also records the date and time, the page you came from, your browser's user-agent string and your IP address. These are kept to stop automated abuse of the form.
Cookies and Analytics
Nothing is stored on your device until you choose. On your first visit a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people arrive on. If you say no, or ignore it, no analytics script loads at all and no analytics cookie is set. Your answer is remembered in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, so declining genuinely leaves nothing behind.
If you accept, Google Analytics 4 sets identifiers on your device to recognise return visits. We have IP anonymisation switched on and advertising features switched off, so the data is not used for ad targeting or shared with advertisers. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which brings the banner back.
There are no other third-party scripts on this website: no advertising pixels, no social widgets, no session recording. The only other cookie the site can set is a sign-in cookie for the instructor's own private admin page, and only after he signs in.
Why We Can Hold It
We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and on our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry about our own service. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to delete your details.
Where It Is Kept
On a server we rent in the European Union, as files on that server's own disk. Enquiries are emailed to the instructor through Amazon Simple Email Service in an EU region. Nothing is stored in a third-party CRM, marketing platform or advertising system.
How Long We Keep It
Enquiries that do not lead to lessons are deleted after 24 months. If you become a pupil, your contact details are kept for as long as you are learning with us and for 24 months afterwards, in case you need a reference or a copy of your progress record.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just ring or email; there is no form to fill in and it will be done within one month, usually the same week.
